CENTRIFUGES
We carry a wide variety of used/refurbished centrifuges, as well as a full line of brand new centrifuges, for many different applications in your laboratory. Options include micro-hematocrit centrifuges, blood in urine centrifuges, combination centrifuges, refrigerated centrifuges, and more. Basic table-top centrifuges for blood, urine, and other fluids are available in fixed speed and variable speed units, with or without timers. The rotors come in fixed angle or horizontal swinging head units.
Micro-hematocrit centrifuges will vary by brand and model. Some require manufacturer-specific microcapillary tubes. Some have built-in readers, like the Clay Adams Readacrit. Laboratory units generally run up to 24 samples at a time.
Combination centrifuges will save on counter space and provide micro-hematocrit as well as blood and urine in one unit. They have timers and speed controls based on the type of sample being spun down.
Used blood bank centrifuges are available in refrigerated and non-refrigerated versions. Rotors are available in different configurations, so let us know the type you need. We offer our used centrifuges configured the way we receive them, however we can often find other options for you.
Helpful tips on laboratory centrifuges
Be sure to use the correct type and size of tube when spinning samples. Adapters need to be used when necessary to insure a tight fit.
Reducing a 15mL centrifuge tube holder to accommodate smaller Vacutainer tubes for spinning down blood samples.
Balance your tubes by placing two evenly filled tubes across from each other. When running one sample, balance the opposite side with a tube filled with water.
